Stan & Amalia Smith.jpg

Stan and Amalia joined MGF in 2001. Stan had been the director and a teacher at a ministerial training institute in Mexico for 12 years. During that time, Amalia had an extensive ministry with women and young girls. She also taught classes at the institute.

Upon finishing their time at the school, they felt led to go out on the fields of ministry of the former students and others to offer them encouragement and facilitate their efforts. They considered that MGF would be the appropriate means of support for that. Over the years, they have greatly appreciated the support, encouragement, and fellowship that the organization has provided them.

Their trips have taken them to many cities and villages of Northwestern Mexico and Southwestern United States. Their van camper allowed them great flexibility to reach out-of-the-way places. They have had to cut back on extensive rigorous travel because of the physical demands that it entails. Nevertheless, they still make trips to churches in Texas, California and Washington. Amalia has had the privilege of traveling to Romania to minister to young women. It has been a great blessing to be able to maintain meaningful contact with distant leaders through the internet and smart phone. We are experimenting with remote teaching using chat room technology.

They appreciate the cooperation of fellow believers who take interest in what they are doing. Others collaborate to strengthen their efforts through encouragement, prayer, and financial assistance. It’s a team effort.

Here are a few ways they are Involved:

  1. Travel to churches in Hispanic communities of Mexico and the United States.

  2. Get to know the leaders and offer them encouragement and useful strategies and materials.

  3. Provide practical materials and training to mature the believers in their congregations.

  4. Offer meetings directed toward the spiritual needs of the congregations.

  5. Develop and provide personalized ministry materials to ministerial leaders.

  6. Maintain contact with them by smart phone and internet
