"My purpose as a unique personality created by God is to continue to know God more & worship Him by seeking to know & do my role in His plan, being kind, caring & accepting; using every opportunity to creatively, practically & alongside others share the love & grace of God with the world near & far through the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God."
When I wrote that purpose statement many years ago, I had no idea how it would all play out. But I see it in some form every day. I consider myself to be a helper, so depending on the current need I am a teacher, secretary, translator, art instructor, chauffeur, photographer, waitress, mentor, aunt, friend. God has taught me that relationship is what it's all about - first with Him then with others. And with relationship comes great joy, indescribable heartache & daily spiritual battles. Because of God's grace I am here & I pray that His grace & love are reflected in my life daily. Thank you for praying!"

Blessings for 2018

Hello from Guaymas!

Feliz Año Nuevo!  Happy New Year to you all.  How was your Christmas season?  I would love to hear about it.

I was rather busy with different things & spent time with a bunch of different people but also had my moments of solitude – sometimes breathing in the Spirit of the season, sometimes shedding a few lonely tears.  I know it’s been forever since I’ve sent a letter & there’s probably news from the fall to share.  But I figured I would share in the letter attached about my December now that you may have time to read it & before the air of the season is completely gone.

Thank you for your part in my 2017!  I was blessed on so many levels & am so thankful that because God is personal, He wants me to have a personal relationship with Him & with others – that’s you.

Blessings for 2018!

July 18, 2017

–Hello

Thanks for your prayers the past few weeks. I survived being sick amid home assignment commitments. And VBS went well. It was a thrill to hear that a friend’s grandson accepted the Lord during our VBS time & it was a blessing for me to work with my sending church in kids ministry!
This week we have a big family reunion planned. There is a wildfire burning not close but also not too far from where we are to be camping. Family is coming from many hours away & have been planning & saving for 2 years. Please pray for good weather, safety & that wildfires will not disrupt our time together.
Thank you! Heather Rix

In Canada Update

Hello everyone!

While this is not a formal newsletter, I just thought I would send a quick note to say thank you, come join us & what’s up for me in Canada this next month.

First, an invitation for those in the lower mainland (found also in FB), from me & JH Missions team. I look forward to sharing a few stories & pictures, answering questions & seeing friends, new & old. There will also be opportunity to participate in a couple projects for our street church & prison ministry. Please come join us if you are able! (You are welcome to just come, but if you know you are coming, please let me know so the ladies making treats get an idea of how much to make.)

Evening of Sharing at JHC with Missionary Heather Rix
Tuesday, June 27 at 7 PM
Johnston Heights Church
9612 152nd Street, Surrey, British Columbia V3R4G

My Schedule:
Now – July 13 in Surrey – JH time, a few things to do while in Canada, but please, let’s get together!
July 13 – July 22ish in Victoria & Kelowna, mostly family time
July 22 – July 30 in Surrey
Aug 1 – Aug 15 – making my way home, conference in Cali, wedding in Nogales
***I would like to see as many of you as I can, so drop me a note & let’s plan.

As I finish part 1 of my time in Canada, I have so much to be thankful for:
Health & safety through many miles of driving solo.
The AB churches that gave me opportunity to share
Visiting with those now seniors who mentored me many years ago.
Friends & family who have so graciously welcomed me into their homes for visits, meals & to stay the night(s).
Kind & generous individuals who have supported projects or just quietly slipped cash into my hand.
Seeing people who are faithfully supporting me prayerfully & financially.
The chance to attend some special events with family & friends – dance recital, soccer game, wedding, 1st birthday, a job change, a father’s day gathering.
New friendships & old friendships renewed.

Thank you AB for a special 3 weeks! And I’m already being blessed in BC but will save that for next time.

BC, Don’t forget to let me know when you can meet for a visit!

Dios les bendiga!

Heather
