Dear Prayer Partners:

Our God is always so good. In this region we have not had tornadoes; our climate is getting better, though we can’t always foresee it ahead of time.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, Who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:17)

An inmate writes: “Hi, appreciated mentor. I greet you in the glorious and blessed name of our Lord, wishing you the best of all blessings, peace, wisdom, and as the Apostle, Paul, says, in love. Because without love our faith is not complete. Also, we should not forget that God loved us first, so let us share that love. In my brief Christian walk I am learning many things, and what most impresses me is to know how to forgive as Christ forgave me, loved me, and gave His life for me. This is helping me to be able to forgive and try to love more where necessary. Here in prison it is not an easy thing to do, but it is not impossible. As it says in our study, ‘I can do everything through Christ Who gives me strength.’ (Philippians 4:13) This is the truth, for without Christ I am nothing, and I cannot do anything. In the past I would say to my family that I could live without money but not without them. But now it is different; I can live without money, or worldly attractions but never without Christ Which is much better; it is the most. I have it all in abundance in spite of the circumstances.”

Now, I, Jose, am in observation after having a small surgical procedure for skin cancer on my left ear. The doctor’s first recommendation was that I should sleep sitting up for 15 nights and have a daily dressing. I was sleeping on three pillows and in an easy chair. I have had a couple checkups and will see the doctor again next month when I will have a full body check. I had that exam in Florida years ago.

I would like to ask you to pray for me because starting May 21st I am teaching a class in the Sunday School on the topic of “Offerings, According to the Bible.” Even though the church is in financial crisis, we need to learn how to worship the Lord through our giving. The pastor has asked me to preach on Sunday, the 28th, as he will be out of town. Please pray for me.

Blessings in Jesus,
Jose & Arcelia Moreno
